2§ field centred on M16 - The Eagle Nebula
>From the DSSII red image, with the DSSI overlaid to bring out the 'Pillars of Creation' in the very centre.
Also used HDR processing to bring out the full contrast range in the images.
When rotated 90§ anti-clockwise, the image bears a striking resemblance to M42, implying that the processes in these nebulae follow similar physics.
