Amethyst - Galaxy NGC 1512

Amethyst-Galaxy NGC 1512. Produced with the FITS Liberator and data downloaded from the Hubble WFPC2 ESO archive. Data and Filter sets Image 1 Plane 1 U57X0101B F658 (mauve (hue 288)) U57X0106B F336 (blue) U57X0109B F547 (yellow/greenhue72)) U57X010CB F814 (red). The filter combinations when set up are a bit tricky as the central detail is very easily lost. The amethyst "ring" pops into view when you manipulate the "mauve" layer. The hardest part is keeping the image in a contrasting background. Composed using Linear FITS images with Photoshop Elements 2 (8 bit) with PC Windows XP
