Auroral emmision arcs

This far-ultraviolet image of Jupiter taken with NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope (HST) shows narrow auroral 'arcs' that appeared at northern mid-latitudes following the impact of the K nucleus fragment of comet P/Shoemaker-Levy 9.
